Established in 1965, Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York enrolled its first class of 210 students. As a part of the State University of New York system, the College today enrolls nearly 5,000 full-and part-time students in credit-bearing courses and processes another 5,000 non-credit registrations each year. Presently FLCC offers 35 associate degree and certificate programs as well as extensive business and industry training, personal enrichment courses, and adult education and G.E.D. classes. In addition to a main campus, FLCC has extension sites in Geneva and Newark, New York which, when combined, enroll approximately 750 students annually. Among the College’s best known academic programs are Environmental Sciences and Conservation (the College produces the 2nd highest number of associate degree graduates in the U.S. each year in this field), Nursing, Music Recording Technology, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Graphic Arts, and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
